Mr. Straussfeld has more than 15 years experience
in the energy sector including various international and domestic
project developments. He was involved in development of energy infrastructures
with a combined project volume over $ 2 billion that have included
large scale coal fired power projects, combined cycle power plants
and waste to energy facilities.
Until 2004 for Mr. Straussfeld served as President, of Steag Power,
LLC and was responsible for the executive management of North and
Central American IPP operations for STEAG AG, Essen, Germany. Through
2001 Mr. Straussfeld held the position of Vice President of Asset
Development for Avista Steag LLC. In this position he was responsible
for the development of new generation capacity and the acquisition
of operating power assets in the Western US where he developed power
generation assets exceeding $450 Million, that included the development
and acquisition of more than 550 MW of gas fired capacity in the
Pacific NW. Before moving to the US Mr. Straussfeld held multiple
management positions at Steag AG in Europe. Mr. Straussfeld is actively
involved in the development of the Desert Rock Energy Project as
well as the Toquop Energy Project. Other domestic projects have
included Brazos Valley (600MW CCGT), Mint Farm (280MW CCGT), and
Coyote Springs (280MW CCGT). Mr. Straussfeld has been involved in
international energy projects in Poland, Turkey, Mexico, Colombia,
Canada and Germany which included a variety of fuels including Coal,
Vis Breaker Slurry, Municipal Waste and Natural Gas.
