Mr. Straussfeld has more than 15 years experience in the energy sector /including various international and domestic project developments. He was involved in the development of energy infrastructures with a combined project volume over $ 2 billion that have /included large scale coal fired power projects, combined cycle power plants and waste to energy facilities. Until 2004, Mr. Straussfeld served as President, of Steag Power, LLC and was responsible for the executive management of North and Central American IPP operations for STEAG AG, Essen, Germany. Through 2001, Mr. Straussfeld held the position of Vice President of Asset Development for Avista Steag LLC. In this position, he was responsible for the development of new generation capacity and the acquisition of operating power assets in the Western US where he developed power generation assets exceeding $450 Million, that /included the development and acquisition of more than 550 MW of gas fired capacity in the Pacific NW.
Before moving to the US, Mr. Straussfeld held multiple management positions at Steag AG in Europe. Mr. Straussfeld is actively involved in the development of the Desert Rock Energy Project as well as the Toquop Energy Project. Other domestic projects have /included Brazos Valley (600 MW CCGT), Mint Farm (280 MW CCGT), and Coyote Springs (280 MW CCGT).
