Mr. Rosenberg joined Sithe Global as President in 2005.
He has over seventeen years experience in the energy and industrial
sector focusing on project development, finance, strategy and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Sithe Global, Mr. Rosenberg founded Sumar Capital
LLC, a financial advisory firm established to provide advisory services
on mergers and acquisitions, project development, project financing
and strategic planning to energy and industrial sector clients.
From 1993 through 2004, Mr. Rosenberg served in various senior
management positions for Sithe Energies, Inc. including as President
and Chief Executive Officer. While at Sithe Energies, Mr. Rosenberg
was responsible for the development, financing and acquisition of
gas-fired and solid fuel electric generating facilities world-wide
including Sithe Energies’ $1.6 billion acquisition of over
twenty electric generating facilities from General Public Utilities,
the subsequent sale of these facilities to Reliant Energy for $2.1
billion, and the sale of Sithe Energies’ New England portfolio
to Exelon for over $1.5 billion.
Before joining Sithe Energies, Mr. Rosenberg was with Milbank Tweed
focusing on the firm’s project development and finance clients.
Mr. Rosenberg represented Sithe Energies in all aspects of the development
and financing of its 1,000 Mw gas-fired Independence cogeneration
facility in Scriba, New York.
Mr. Rosenberg holds a JD from Columbia University Law School and
a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University.
