Mr. Poje joined Sithe Global Power in 2004 as Vice
President, Development. Mr. Poje has over 35 years of experience in
the energy sector, including ten years developing power projects.
Prior to Sithe Global, Mr. Poje spent 25 years with General Public
Utilities (GPU) equally divided between nuclear plant commissioning
and operations, and fossil plant development, commissioning, and
operations. Mr. Poje spent one year each with Sithe Energies, and
Reliant Energy following the transfers of the GPU fossil assets
to those companies.
Prior development activities include the Seward Waste coal project,
the Brooklyn Energy Project in Nova Scotia, and the advanced gas
turbine projects at the Reliant Energy (formerly GPU) Gilbert and
Portland Stations.
Mr. Poje is a 1969 graduate of the State University of New York
Maritime College, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He
started his career as a watch standing engineer on US merchant ships,
followed by a position as Operation Engineer with General Electric
in their dedicated Naval Reactors operations.
Mr. Poje is a licensed Marine Engineer as well as a licensed Professional
Engineer.
