Mr. Kubeck has over ten years of experience in the
energy and industrial sector. Mr. Kubeck helped found Sithe Global
in 2004 and has development and project finance responsibilities
for various Sithe Global projects around the world. Most recently,
Mr. Kubeck led the non-recourse project financing of the C$1.1 billion,
875MW Goreway Station in Ontario, Canada as well as working closely
with Reservoir Capital on the IPO of the 160MW Cardinal facility
(now the Macquarie Power Trust).
Before Sithe Global, Mr. Kubeck spent five years as Vice President
of Herakles Capital, an investment and advisory firm founded by
Mr. Wrobel. While at Herakles, Mr. Kubeck helped start-up EnCom
and Global Alumina Products Corporation. Encom, a new independent
power development company focused on private power opportunities
in Japan, was sold in 2000. Mr. Kubeck continues to assist with
the development and financing of Global Alumina’s 2.8 million
ton per annum alumina refinery in the Republic of Guinea.
Prior to Herakles Capital, Mr. Kubeck opened Sithe Energies’ office
in Manila, Philippines and helped Sithe Energies pursue power opportunities
in Southeast Asia, including playing a key role in the project financing
of the $1.2 billion San Roque hydroelectric project in 1998.
